Bills fans donate to Mark Andrews’ charity following Divisional round

The Buffalo fan base used generosity to display their gratitude toward a player from an opposing team.

Famously known for their affinity for breaking tables and almost as much as their passionate support of the Buffalo Bills franchise, the Bills Mafia have also been known to show support and appreciation toward anyone who aids in their team’s cause to strive for a Super Bowl championship.

Baltimore Ravens Pro Bowl tight end Mark Andrews indirectly helped propel the Bills to the AFC championship after fumbling in the fourth quarter and dropping what would’ve been a game-tying two-point conversion attempt in Sunday’s division-round loss. After witnessing all the harsh backlash the seven-year veteran was getting from the media and his own fan base, Bills fan Nicholas Howard started a GoFundMe to raise money for Breakthrough TD1, a diabetes research and advocacy organization near and dear to Andrews.

Andrews was diagnosed with Type-1 diabetes when he was 9 years old and lives with it every day having to go through such measures as checking his blood-sugar levels during games between each offensive series.

More than 1,400 people have donated to the GoFundMe which had an initial goal of $5,000 but has already surpassed $37,000 with a new goal of $50,000.

This isn’t the first time that the Bills Mafia opened up their hearts and wallets to make a generous donation to a charity at the heartbreaking expense of the Ravens. Following the infamous game-winning 49-yard touchdown given up on fourth-and-12 in the 2017 regular season finale loss that sent the Bills to the playoffs for the first time this century, their fans donated more than $400,000 to the foundation of former Cincinnati Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton that focuses on children with special needs and medical issues.
