The Ravens roster boasts three former Steelers and they shared what their favorite moments of in the rivalry games they’ve played.
The Baltimore Ravens (7-3) roster holds three former Pittsburgh Steelers (7-2), wide receiver Diontae Johnson, defensive lineman Chris Wormley and cornerback Arthur Maulet. All three spoke on Tuesday and shared their favorite moments of the rivalry as they head into Week 11 and will be on the road to face the AFC North leading Steelers.
For Johnson and Wormley, it was the same game. Week 13 of the 2021 season.
“One game when we played, the Ravens came to us in 2021. I had a good game,” Johnson said, grinning. “I had two touchdowns. That’s what I remember.”
Johnson was referring to Week 13 of 2021 where he led all players in receiving with 105 yards and caught two touchdowns, including the game-winner against cornerback Marlon Humphrey on a zig route.
While Johnson had an explosive performance, Wormley was doing equal amounts of damage on the other end. He sacked Lamar Jackson 2.5 times, had five total tackles and three quarterback hits.
“I mean, I think the best game of my career came in 2021 when I was with the Steelers [and] had 2.5 sacks on Lamar,” Wormley said. “That is always going to be the memories and moments that stick in my mind forever.”
While Wormley did notch 2.5 sacks on Jackson, he noted how hard it was to get him and get him down.
“I mean, despite having 2.5 sacks, it was probably the most challenging,” Wormley said. “Just what he’s been able to do, not only with his feet but his arm. He’s one of the best I’ve seen.”
As for Arthur Maulet who won three of four games against the Ravens while on the opposing team, he didn’t couldn’t pick. Instead, he is hoping Sunday becomes his favorite memory as he ‘becomes a Raven.’
“I just want to win Sunday. That will be my favorite memory,” Maulet said. “Then I’ll be a Raven. Because they said until you beat Pittsburgh you’re not a Raven. So, I’m not a Raven, yet. And I want to be a Raven. So, I want to whup their butts on Sunday.”
