The Seattle Seahawks have reportedly found their replacement for Pete Carroll.
According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, the Seahawks are hiring Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald as their head coach.
Rapoport said the Seahawks had Macdonald as their top target. They were even willing to wait for him if the Ravens made the Super Bowl.
Macdonald had an incredible season in Baltimore to say the least. Not only did his unit finish the year as the No. 1 scoring defense, they led the league in sacks.
This move hasn’t been officially announced by the Seahawks yet. However, that’s because they’re currently enjoying a second meeting with Macdonald.

At 36 years old, Macdonald will become the youngest head coach in the NFL.
Macdonald will be tasked with building an elite defense in Seattle that can slow down the high-flying offenses in the NFC West. That’s easier said than done since Kyle Shana of the 49ers and Sean McVay of the Rams are elite offensive play-callers.
Of course, Macdonald also has to find a franchise quarterback for the Seahawks. Perhaps he’ll find the right signal-caller in the upcoming draft.
