Derrick Henry and Brock Bowers are two studs in the AFC. Both of their teams are in different situations when it comes to the playoff picture. One team is hoping to clinch their division title while the other is eliminated from playoff contention. Both players have constantly contributed on offense each week for their team. However, it recently became a different story as these two AFC stars had an average week 15.
These Two AFC Stars Had an Average Week 15
Derrick Henry vs The New York Giants
Coming off his bye week, Derrick Henry has scored a touchdown in all but two games. These two games came against the Los Angeles Chargers and the Philadelphia Eagles. Henry has dominated in many games as well this season. One performance that stands out is week four against the Buffalo Bills. The powerful running back rushed 24 times for 199 yards and brought in three receptions for 10 yards. Henry seemed poised to go off on a bad New York Giants defense. This did not happen due to Lamar Jackson taking over. Jackson threw for five touchdowns and also came away with 65 rushing yards. Jackson’s takeover limited Henry’s performance. Henry rushed for only 67 yards on 14 carries. While it was a quiet afternoon for Henry, the Ravens emerged victorious with a 35-14 victory over the Giants.
A Quiet Monday Night for Brock Bowers
Brock Bowers has been exceptional all season for the Las Vegas Raiders. He has been a bright spot on a team that has been struggling all season. Bowers’ emergence as a top tight end can help fans look past the team’s injuries and brutal record. Bowers even made history as he broke the record for most receptions in a season by a rookie tight end. He can even make more history as the season goes on. His latest performance against the Atlanta Falcons was a different story. It was difficult for Bowers to connect with quarterback Desmond Ridder. Bowers only put up three catches for 35 yards on six targets. Things could change next week as it looks like he will be reunited with Aidan O’Connell at quarterback. O’Connell had been dealing with a knee injury leading up to the team’s game on Monday night. Bowers and the Raiders wrap up their season against the Jaguars, Saints, and the Chargers as they hope to bring in another win to help their fan base feel better again.

Moving Forward
Derrick Henry and Brock Bowers should continue to make positive strides as the season comes to an end. Henry is looking like a steal of a free-agent pickup so far for the Baltimore Ravens. Brock Bowers has made it clear that the Las Vegas Raiders made a smart decision in drafting him in the first round. It will be interesting to see how these teams continue to develop as one prepares for a high draft selection and the other gets ready for a playoff run.
