Two-time Pro Bowler cornerback Trevon Diggs could be looking for a new roster as he will head to surgery after his injury, Ravens, Chiefs are his possible next teams. According to a report, the Dallas Cowboys will lose one of their top-star cornerbacks for the rest of the 2024 campaign since the team is nowhere near postseason contention. The team is hitting rock bottom and it’s hard to imagine the Cowboys will continue giving Diggs more chances, which one report says they could release him this upcoming offseason. Originally selected in the second round of the 2020 NFL Draft, the Alabama has been constructing himself as one of the elite cornerbacks league, signing a massive extension in the summer of 2023.
However, injuries with two season-ending injuries in back-to-back years may not be worth the headache for the Cowboys. It’s insane luck for the Dallas Cowboys but Stephen Jones is bracing this team for another quiet offseason, so they probably won’t hesitate to release him. The Cowboys need to think about the future of this team they already have a promising standout in DaRon Bland but he has a few injury problems as well. It shouldn’t surprise anyone if the team looks to this upcoming NFL to draft their next potential star cornerback.
There might be a guarantee that Diggs will not be the same player he once was when if he returns to the team next season. With Micah Parsons’ contract up, the Cowboys might have to cut some corners to save money to keep some of their top elite talent. However, once healthy, he should garner immediate interest from several NFL teams but the Ravens, Chiefs might be able to revitalize his career.

Shoring Up the Secondary
The Baltimore Ravens possess one of the most dangerous offenses in the league despite losing several winnable games this season. Since signing Derrick Henry, the team has had a speedy playbook that continues to make Lamar Jackson’s job easier in the pocket as the signal-caller. However, as he’s looking on the sidelines, the defense hasn’t been replicating the same energy the team is looking for. While they lost several key free agents, they never adjusted the team’s secondary game until this past NFL Trade Deadline, acquiring Tre’Davious White from the Los Angeles Rams.
The team’s secondary has too many holes to address this year since guys like Brandon Stephens haven’t been on the same page as Marlon Humphrey. Rookie cornerback Nate Wiggins is still adjusting to the NFL so this may force the Ravens to sign a star like Diggs in the offseason if he becomes available. John Harbaugh hasn’t been afraid this year to move some pieces after benching Marcus Williams in favor of Ar’Darius Washington. While Diggs won’t come off to a fast start, he could echo the same blueprint skills that Humphrey possesses to keep the ship rowing.
The New Sneed?
It’s hard to imagine the Kansas City Chiefs will make a deep run in the postseason this year. The Chiefs have come in clutch in just losing one game. However, this doesn’t give them the same momentum they’ve been having the past two seasons after winning back-to-back Super Bowls. The offense has been slowing down with Patrick Mahomes and Travis Kelce not being able to connect in any big-moment plays but the defense’s been carrying the weight of that.
Trent McDuffie is filling in the shoes after L’Jarius Sneed’s departure so while he’s constructing himself into a star, they could use some longevity depth. This is why the Chiefs brought back Steven Nelson to help them with their three-peat wishes and potentially give them some nostalgia. While that might work, it can’t last for years to come. Diggs might not be a star anymore given his injury history, but he’s a better ball-hawker than Joshua Williams.
