2023 was a year for some rebounding, build-off, and even perseverance. After a brutal first-round exit against Iowa State in the NCAA Tournament, deficiencies often became apparent last season. Head Coach Brenda Frese, entering her 23rd year coaching at Maryland, made her magic during the offseason. Adding six transfers: Saylor Poffenbarger (Arkansas), Christina Dalce (Villanova), Kaylene Smikle (Rutgers), Sarah Te-Biasu (VCU), Mir McLean (Virginia), and Amari Deberry (UConn). Compared to last season with Injuries, production from lineups, and even experience. Last season, Maryland won 19 games, which, to some, is different for a program that has made a name for itself in Big Ten since the 2014-2015 season. This Maryland team has a distinct aura; this team brings something different: rebounding, size, shooting, and more depth.
