Ryan Minor, a University of Oklahoma graduate, former Oriole and Expo has been placed in hospice care after learning that doctors at Johns Hopkins Cancer Center said there was nothing more that they can do in regards to his stage 4 colon cancer. Ryan Minor is best known for taking over at 3rd base when Cal Ripken Jr. voluntarily ended his consecutive games streak at 2632 games on September 20th, 1998. It was that day when Ryan Minor was found fielding at 3rd base by David Wells of the Yankees.
Minor stood a massive 6′ 7″ and weighed 225lb. also worked in the minor leagues as a coach and manager (2006-2021) down later after his playing career was over.
He was a standout in basketball and baseball from 1993 to 1995 as well being an All-American in college basketball at the University of Oklahoma.
He led the Sooners to the 1994 College World Series title in 1994.
He would play for the Baltimore Orioles and the then Montreal Expos from 1998-2001 finishing with a .177 batting average, 5 homeruns, and 27 runs batted in
