The Washington Commanders are hiring the grandson of an NFL legend to Dan Quinn’s coaching staff.
The team announced on Tuesday that it has added Jesse Madden, the grandson of the late Hall of Famer John Madden, as an offensive quality control coach. It’s Jesse Madden’s first coaching opportunity in the NFL after graduating from Michigan, where he played quarterback as a freshman before switching to defensive back.
Madden was part of the Wolverines’ National Championship team two seasons ago so he’s making a quick transition from playing to coaching.
In addition to Madden, the Commanders also hired Brian Schneider as their assistant special teams coordinator. Schneider worked with Quinn in Seattle, so their connection goes back to their days with the Seahawks.
