The Washington Commanders improved to 5-2 after Sunday’s 40-7 blowout win over the Carolina Panthers. The story of the game was the health of Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels. Daniels was injured on Washington’s first drive when he landed awkwardly after a 46-yard run. He suffered a rib injury and did not return.
Enter Marcus Mariota. The 10-year veteran took over, and the Commanders’ offense didn’t miss a beat. Mariota completed 18 of 23 passes for 205 yards and two touchdowns. Mariota was so good that he earned an 85.5 grade from Pro Football Focus for his performance. As good as Mariota was, he wasn’t PFF’s highest-graded Commanders. Who was?
Here are Washington’s best and worst performers from its Week 5 win over Carolina.
