Commanders 2024 position review | Running back
— Ekeler was limited during the regular season due to being placed in the concussion protocol twice, but he proved he is still an explosive weapon with the ball. His 521 yards after the catch ranked seventh among all running backs this season.
— It was another solid season overall for Robinson, despite missing three games. He hit a career-high in rushing yards and touchdowns, including a 40-yarder against the Tennessee Titans. Robinson also continued to be a physical presence that was hard to stop, as 421 of his yards came after contact.

Jayden Daniels on playing with poise, Kliff Kingsbury, and his favorite plays from his rookie year
At Scoop City’s Super Bowl LIX headquarters, we got some time with Daniels to discuss his first year in the NFL, working with offensive coordinator Kliff Kingsbury, what he thinks the Chiefs offense should focus on against the Eagles defense in Super Bowl LIX, and his favorite plays from the season.
Dianna: How would you describe Kliff Kingsbury as a playcaller when people ask you about him? How do you say it?
Jayden: Very creative and he wants the best for his players. Throughout the week, I’ll send clips of stuff that I think will work this week and he’ll put it in, or he’ll show me stuff and it’s like how did you even come up with that? Kliff, when he watches film, he watches all 32 teams and what they did. Kliff is crazy.
Dianna: For people that have been trying to figure out what it is about your relationship that works for you and Kliff, you obviously have tons of respect. You understand his experience, his intelligence. What do you think he did well, though, to put you in the position that you were in this year to make this transition look really smooth?
Jayden: I think we just had answers for different stuff. Passing-wise we had answers, or even a run game — I mean, with RPOs and stuff like that. In the passing game, we had answers for the different coverages they might show us. So it was like, if they want to go cover-2, we have an answer for this in this concept. He just gave me the freedom to go out there and be me, which was a big thing.

Former Cowboys TE Peyton Hendershot says Chiefs are about winning, Dallas about ‘extracurriculars’
Peyton Hendershot is the latest person to openly question the Dallas Cowboys culture.
It is not a secret that some former Dallas Cowboys players do not believe the team is all about winning. Consider when Cole Beasley left the team and noted that the Buffalo Bills had better facilities. That was a long time ago, but in recent years Dalton Schultz left for the Houston Texans and caused a bit of a frenzy when he referred to the facility tours at The Star as a zoo-like atmosphere that players have to deal with.
During the week of Super Bowl LIX, another former player went on record about it all. I happen to be in New Orleans and caught up with Peyton Hendershot during the Kansas City Chiefs availability on Wednesday morning. We had a great chat about Hendershot’s career, his time at Indiana, what it’s like to be in this game and all of the obvious thing, but it goes without saying that Cowboys questions came up.
When asked about the pomp and circumstance associated with playing for America’s Team, Hendershot noted that there is a significant difference between his current team and old one, and in the exact same way that former Cowboys have done so in the past.
Current Chiefs and former Cowboys TE Peyton Hendershot on the culture differences between the two teams:

Melbourne to host first-ever NFL regular season game in Australia in 2026; Rams designated team
The National Football League today announced a multiyear commitment to play regular season games in Melbourne, Australia beginning in 2026 as the league continues to take international games to new markets around the world and grow the game year-round through global partners, programs and initiatives.
The NFL’s first-ever regular season game in Australia will be played at the iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) in 2026, with the Los Angeles Rams as the designated team.
The Rams, alongside the Philadelphia Eagles, hold marketing rights in Australia as part of the league’s Global Markets Program — an initiative that awards NFL clubs international marketing rights to build brand awareness and fandom beyond the U.S., through fan engagement, events and commercial opportunities. Since being awarded those rights, the Rams have expanded their presence in Australia through partnerships and key player initiatives.
The Rams’ opponent, along with game date and kickoff time, will be announced at a later date.
In 2025, the NFL has confirmed games in London, Berlin and Madrid as part of the international games slate to date.

Eagles won’t be playing in Australia during the 2026 season after all
The Birds could still be headed down under in the future, though.
It was previously reported that the Eagles were “likely” to play the Rams at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in 2026.
But then Eagles owner Jeffrey Lurie shut down the idea that the Eagles would be losing a home game at Lincoln Financial Field for the second time within three years.
Further, the NFL officially announced on Wednesday that the Rams will be the “home team” for an Australian game in 2026. With the Eagles set to host the Rams in Philly that season, the Birds will not be LA’s opponent in “The Land Down Under.”

NFLPA’s Austin Ekeler: Idea of 18-Game Season ‘Makes Me Cringe’
NFLPA’s Lloyd Howell speaks out against the 18-game season, stressing player health and safety.
NFLPA executive director Lloyd Howell came out strongly against an 18-game regular season, questioning at his annual Super Bowl press conference the effect adding another game to the schedule would have on player health and safety.
His position, which is different from the one he espoused at last year’s Super Bowl press conference when he said everyone likes more football, helps explain NFL commissioner Roger Goodell putting the brakes on adding an extra game. On Monday, the commissioner said schedule expansion negotiations would take place within collective bargaining agreement talks; the CBA expires in 2031.
“Right now, when I have talked to the players the last two seasons, no one wants to play an 18th game,” Howell said. “No one. Seventeen games is already, for many of the guys, too long. Seventeen games is also so lengthy that you’re still dealing with injuries going into the next season.”
Added NFLPA executive committee member Austin Ekeler, “Eighteen games makes me cringe. … the 18th game, personally speaking, not speaking for membership, is something that is really outrageous.”
Howell also criticized the league’s expansion of its international schedule for affecting player health and safety and said the NFL can’t go beyond 10 international games a year without union permission. Goodell has said he would like to stage 16 international games a year.
