Dan Quinn speaks to the media on Victory Sunday
Dan Quinn spoke to reporters for Victory Sunday after the team’s huge win over the Detroit Lions last night. That win advances them to the NFC Championship game, and their opponent will be determined by the results of the Los Angeles Rams vs Philadelphia Eagles game that is happening now. Quinn confirmed that RG Sam Cosmi tore his ACL and he is out for the rest of the playoffs. Tough loss for the team and the player who will likely miss the start of next season.
Quinn said the environment at Ford Field was impressive and the Lions fans really showed up(at least until the 4th quarter when they started leaving). He said Jayden Daniels lives for moments like this and he thrives under pressure. Quinn also praised Dyami Brown, Mike Sainristil, Bobby Wagner, Trent Scott, and Washington’s kick coverage unit.
Washington’s defense stepped up in a big way, and forced 5 turnovers. Four of them were interceptions, and one of those was a pick-6 from Quan Martin. Quinn talked about using more zone which worked for a team that has struggled to get takeaways this season.
