Second Quarter
During the break, CJ Gardner-Johnson was flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct. The dead ball 15-yard penalty gave Washington a 1st down at the Eagles 44-yard line.
After a short run and an incomplete pass, it was 3rd & 8 at the 42-yard line. On the 3rd down play, Kingsbury called Jayden Daniels’ number for a called QB run right up the middle for 14 yards and a first down a the 28-yard line.
Nice play design on the QB draw ends with one of the smoothest QB slides you’ll ever see.

On 1st down, it looked like a sack on Daniels, but Jalen Carter was called for an unnecessary roughness foul (a terrible call on replay) that gave Washington another first down at the Philly 28 yard line.
Jalen Carter flagged for unnecessary roughness for this shove on Sam Cosmi.
Nahhh. That ain’t a flag.

For the 2nd time today, Brian Robinson fumbled the ball away on a first-down run!!
Brian Robinson with his second fumble lost for the game.
He hadn’t lost a fumble all season until today.
Nightmare stuff.

At this point, Jalen Hurts was officially ruled out.
Picket underthrew AJ Brown against Marshon Lattimore, but Brown comes up with the catch for a 45-yard gain. This looks bad.

After a penalty and a couple of short runs, it was 3rd & 8 at the Washington 43-yard line. On the money down, Kenny Pickett’s scrambled right and tossed the ball out of bounds to bring on the Philly punter for the first time today.
With 10:29 left in the half, the punt bounced out of bounds at the Washington 4-yard line.
The defense did its job; now the offense — again — needs to score a touchdown to stay in the game. They’ll need to go 96 yards to do it.
Jayden gets them more than halfway there on one play! He hits Dyami Brown in stride for a 50-yard gain to the Philly 46 yard line!!
Jayden Daniels sends it long

We finally see Chris Rodriguez on 2nd & 6; he runs for 5 yards, but then loses 2 yards on 3rd down. Facing 4th & 3 at the 39-yard line, Jayden uses his legs on a scramble for 5 yards to keep the drive alive. He’s really good at that!
4th and 4 converted.
Jayden Daniels magic.

On 3rd & 8 from teh 32-yard line, Daniels throws a rainbow to the goal line that Terry McLaurin catches in the breadbasket right over his head for a huge touchdown! Two huge passes to Brown and McLaurin and the 4th down conversion by JD5 were the key plays on an 8-play, 96 yard driver that took 3:43.
JAYDEN DANIELS DIME TO TERRY MCLAURIN.

With 06:46 left in the half, the score is 21-14. We still have a game!
Following the kickoff, the Eagles start their next offensive drive at the 24-yard line.
Two plays later, the Eagles faced 3rd & 5 at their own 30-yard line. A stop by the Commanders defense here would be huge. The crowd was roaring.
On 3rd down, PIckett found AJ Brown for a completion, but Lattimore tackled hm short of the line to gain.
Marshon Lattimore prevents the 1st down gain on 3rd down against AJ Brown.
He’s good.

Without Jalen Hurts, there’s no tush-push; the Eagles punt and Jayden Daniels brings his offense onto the field with 1st & 10 at the Washington 24-yard line and 04:51 on the clock.
With a TD drive here, Washington has the possibility of going to halftime tied in a game that had been dominated early by the Eagles.
Robinson is back in the game; he gained a yard on 2nd down to bring up 3rd & 5 at teh 29-yard line.
Jeremy McNichols caught a checkdown on third down, but gained only 1 yard. Tress Way came on to punt.
Following a fair catch, the Eagles had 1st & 10 at their own 27-yard line with 3:07 on the clock.
After a PBU by Lattimore and a short run, Philly had 3rd & 7 at their own 30-yard line. On the money down, The Commanders defense held Saquon Barkley short of the line to gain to bring up 4th & 2 as the game reached the 2-minute warning.
Following the time out, Nick Sirianni sent out his punt team. Following a 6-yard return by Jamison Crowber on a bobbled catch, the Commanders came on the field with a 1st down at their own 33-yard line with 1:52 on the clock.
Incredibly, Jayden Daniels over-shot Luke McCaffrey in the middle of the field — about 2 yards over his head — and Gardner-Johnson pulled in an easy interception at the WAS 49-yard line. This was a horrible play!
Unfortunately, Luke McCaffrey is not 8 feet tall.

Washington blew a great opportunity to even the score before halftime with this atrocious throw.
Two plays later, on 3rd & 1, Frankie Luvu tackled Saquon Barkley for a 3-yard loss to bring up 4th & 4 at the 43-yard line.
LUVUUUUUUUUUUUU

With 11 seconds on the clock, the Eagles kept their offense on the field, and Pickett hit Davonta Smith for a 1st down at the 38-yard line. Nick Sirianni sent his kicker out for a 56-yard field goal attempt. Jake Elliott dropped it short, and the halftime score is 21-14.
The Eagles will get the ball to start the second half.
