A film session highlighting issues the Commanders offense faced against the Dallas Cowboys
As the Commanders turn the page toward their week 13 opponent, the Tennessee Titans, they can’t afford to go into the matchup without patching up several holes hindering their once elite offensive unit, which was all but mediocre over the last couple of weeks. Washington has run into some quality defenses, though, specifically defensive units that can provide a variety of matchup problems.
Three weeks ago, the Pittsburgh Steelers created interior and edge pressure while holding Washington under 60 yards rushing in the game. Just a couple of days later, the Philadelphia Eagles dominated the line of scrimmage, holding Washington’s offense to just 264 total yards while having the secondary to stifle Terry McLaurin and interior pressure to keep Jayden Daniels uncomfortable as a dropback passer. The Dallas Cowboys, while drastically worse than both the Steelers and Eagles, had an excellent pass rush scheme that exploited the interior of Washington’s offensive line.
Washington was not faultless against their last three opponents; make no mistake. In this Trap or Dive film session, I broke down how the Cowboys attacked the Commanders’ offensive line and where the offense failed to execute against Dallas.
