No prizes; just bragging rights
Welcome to the final week of Hogs Haven’s weekly Pick’em contests!
If you’d like to get in on the fun of picking this week’s winners in the NFL without having to risk any money or win any prizes, I’ve got the contest for you.
This is actually two contests:
- Simply pick the winner (Pick’em)
- Pick against the spread (Spread)
You can participate in either, both, or neither.
- No entries will be accepted after kickoff of the 1pm games on Sunday.
- If you want to change your entry, simply click the appropriate link below and fill in another entry form. I will use the last one submitted prior to Sunday’s 1pm kickoff as the official entry.
- The spreads used for the Point Spread contest will be the ones set by me at the time of writing the article and they will not change.

When you pick your winners this week, remember to take into account each team’s playoff/draft situation. In Week 18, the best team doesn’t always win or dominate like they would mid-season.

The forms ask you to enter an email address. You should automatically receive a copy of your picks via email to the address provided. If you do not want to provide your email address, simply enter a dummy address (e.g., dummy@hotmail.com) to continue with the form.

Note that in the Point Spread contest, the FAVORITE is denoted with a minus sign (-) while the UNDERDOG is denoted with a plus sign (+).
I’ll publish the list of entrants with the highest scores after the conclusion of this week’s slate of games.
Bragging rights for this week
Pick’em
There were 29 entrants in this weeks Pick’em contest, down a lot from last week’s total of 45. With a full slate of 16 games in Week 17, we had 6 entrants tie for first place with 14 correct predictions about game winners. Joeynine, lakeside_jailers, TradeUpForLS, Buffaloboy54, Pike1868, and David Zirn created a logjam at the top of the standings this week, with, I believe, our first-ever 6-way tie for first place. Another 6 entrants scored a baker’s dozen, while 7 more tallied twelve correct predictions each.
Point Spread
We had 21 entries in the Point Spread contest (down from 27 entries last week). In a tough week for picking against the spreads, TradeUpForLS, one of our co-winners in the Pick’em contest, stood alone as the only entrant to pick 10 winners in the points-adjusted contest. Five entrants were hot on his heels with 9 correct prognostications, while 3 entrants scored 8 and another five got 7 picks correct.
Congratulations to all on another great week of predictions. Don’t forget to click the links above and get your entries in for this week; it costs nothing to enter except a few minutes of your time, and the pride of winning will warm you for an entire week and give you something to brag about that will drive your friends and family crazy.
