Congratulations!
The Washington Commanders were one of two teams that didn’t send any players to the Pro Bowl*, with the New England Patriots being the other one, last year. Washington was 4-13 last season, earning the No. 2 overall pick which they used on LSU QB Jayden Daniels.
The Washington Commanders are now 11-5 and have clinched a spot in the playoffs. They also had two players named to the Pro Bowl this morning, along with 11 alternates. Jayden Daniels gets his first Pro Bowl nod after leading all NFL QBs in fan voting. He is a lock for Offensive Rookie of the Year, and is looking more towards the playoffs than individual awards, but he said it would be a blessing if he did get voted in during his rookie season. Daniels continues to set franchise, and NFL, records during his impressive first year in the league.
Terry McLaurin was 4th in WR voting from the fans, and he has earned his first Pro Bowl where he wasn’t initially an alternate(2022). McLaurin is having his best season as a pro, and his connection with Jayden Daniels has been fun to watch this season. He has 1,034 yards and 12 TDs this season with one more game to go.
Washington Commanders Pro Bowl alternates:
- LB Bobby Wagner – First Alternate
- LS Tyler Ott – First Alternate
- ST Nick Bellore – First Alternate
- C Tyler Biadasz – Second Alternate
- OLB Frankie Luvu – Second Alternate
- P Tress Way – Second Alternate
- KR Austin Ekeler – Third Alternate
- OLB Dante Fowler Jr. – Third Alternate
- ST Jeremy Reaves – Third Alternate
- S Jeremy Chinn – Fifth Alternate
- TE Zach Ertz – Fifth Alternate
This year the NFL won’t be playing an actual “football” game, instead they will have a series of Pro Bowl skill competitions during the week, ending with a flag football game. Eli and Peyton Manning will be the head coaches for the third year in a row.
