He attacks both on the ground and through the air
Jayden Daniels was named the FedEx Air Player of the Week for his game-winning performance against the Chicago Bears. The other nominees for the award were Falcons QB Kirk Cousins and Browns QB Jameis Winston.

To be honest, I’m not sure whether it was Jayden Daniels passing or his running that got him the award. Probably both. However, here is a summary of his accomplishments against the Bears on Sunday.
- Through the air, the rookie sensation was 21-38 for 326 yard, and 1 touchdown — a stunning game-winning Hail Mary that was thrown 10 seconds after the game clock had expired.
- On the ground, he carried the ball 8 times for 52 yards.
- He led the Commanders offense on five scoring drives, including a 4-play, 75-yard touchdown drive in the final 25 seconds of the game with only one timeout at his disposal.
This Sunday’s victory followed a game last Sunday in which Daniels was injured on Washington’s opening play and did not return after completing their first drive. He didn’t practice most of week, and shocked many observers simply by playing vs the Bears. The fact that he led his offense to 481 yards against a Chicago defense that ranked 7th (by DVOA) coming into Week 8 was all the more impressive when you realize that he was playing in some pain. By the time Jayden was finished with them, the Bears defense had fallen to #11 (by DVOA).
Daniels’ incredible rookie season continues as the accolades continue to pile up.
