Washington Commanders star quarterback Jayden Daniels was back in Louisiana this week ahead of Thursday’s NFL Honors, where he’s expected to be named the NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year.
On Wednesday, Daniels stopped by radio row at Super Bowl LIX to chat about his phenomenal rookie season. Of course, Daniels also discussed this weekend’s big game between the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs.
Daniels knows the Eagles well, having played them three times, including in the NFC championship game. While that game didn’t go Washington’s way, Daniels and the Commanders were the last team to beat the Eagles, giving Philadelphia one of its only three losses. That game also ended the Eagles’ 10-game winning streak, as Daniels passed for five touchdown passes, including the game-winner with six seconds remaining.
So, Daniels knows all too well how good the Eagles are. Does he believe his NFC East rivals will prevent Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs from winning their third consecutive Super Bowl?
“I think it’s gonna come down to whoever got the ball last,” Daniels told Shannon Sharpe and Chad Johnson of the “Nightcap” show.
“Obviously, Saquon (Barkley), and what they do, J (Jalen) Hurts, you got A.J. Brown, and then on the other side, you got Pat (Mahomes). It’s hard to bet against Pat, especially because he’s been here. But I think it’s who can create more turnovers. Who can create more negative plays. I think it’s gonna come down to the end. So, for me, I think it’s hard to bet against Pat………I love playing the Eagles, they’re in the division, but I think it’s hard to bet against Pat.”

Earlier on Wednesday, Mahomes praised Daniels after his phenomenal rookie season.
There you have it; Jayden Daniels believes the Chiefs will three-peat in a close Super Bowl.
