QB Jayden Daniels speaks to the media after practice
Jayden Daniels spoke to the Washington sports media after practice on Wednesday.
Jayden talked about the importance of practice, and agreed with Dan Quinn that the offense was not ‘clicking’ against the Eagles. He said that the extra days off allowed him to ‘reset’ but added that he’s glad to be back and to reset for the second half of the season. He said that he enjoyed the opportunity to watch football over the long weekend off, including watching the Cowboys’ MNF game “as a fan, just to see some football being played”, adding that scouting a team requires the all-22 film.
Jayden repeated the mantra of the team that they are focused on themselves and constantly striving to get better.
Daniels talked a bit about the length of the season and the grind involved in his first year in the NFL. He echoed Dan Quinn’s comments about learning to handle adversity and learning from the tough games.
Asked about the wraps that the training staff put on his body between offensive series during games, Jayden Daniels replied that it was “to stay warm”, adding that the weather is getting colder.
Asked about Dallas defender Micah Parsons, Daniels described him as a “game changer”, and discussed how he moves around the defense and impacts the game in different ways: “You’ve gotta always be aware of a guy like that; you don’t let game-wreckers wreck games.”
Jayden was asked about the rivalry with the Cowboys and replied that he is still learning, and that he might go out Sunday and learn more about what it means, but stressed that he understood that it means a lot to fans: “I’m new to this, so I’m still trying to learn rivalries and how fan bases work against each other.” As usual, Jayden said his focus was just on winning the game this week.
He was, of course, very complimentary of the Cowboys team and the players on their roster, saying he was sure it would be fun to play against them on Sunday.

Daniels on not running as much lately: “I think you self-scout and look at different things; obviously teams will start to play you differently, containing me and contain the run game.”
