News Broke around 12:00pm that the Pittsburgh Steelers vs Buffalo Bills Wild Card game will be moved to Monday at 4:30pm because of inclement weather in the area of Buffalo, NY. I believe the NFL made a mistake by moving the Steelers vs. Bills game to Monday at 4:30pm. Here’s 3 reasons why:
1. Time Slot: This game does not fit the schedule of your viewership. Most of the population will be out either celebrating the Martin Luther King Holiday. Also, the NBA will be having a host of games on TV at the same time the Steelers vs. Bills game will be going on. Then you might say “well the NBA and NFL found a way to share viewership on Christmas.” It’s not the same if you looking at the bigger picture. The game is set for a 4:30pm kickoff. Most people, even though it’s a holiday, will be in transit from work. Having some rushing to get home from their jobs, etc. Lastly, the game is on CBS and most people when they are getting home are looking their shows such as the news, court shows, etc.
2. It’s Football Weather: There has been numerous of bad weather games in the NFL since the beginning. I have never heard a game being postponed because of snow or rain. Some games that comes to mind that were pretty bad: 2013 Lions vs Eagles, 2001 divisional game New England Patriots vs Oakland Raiders (Tuck Rule). Granted the New York State government pushed the NFL to make this decision but it was the wrong decision to have come to because of snow. I am sure that most of them people will find a way to and from the game if the had too. The players would have had a fun time playing in the snow.
3. The Miami Dolphins and Kansas City Chiefs: The Kansas City Chiefs and Miami Dolphins should be the main teams mad about this decision. There will be expected temperatures for this game Saturday night to be negative 30 degrees. These are very inhumane conditions for anyone to be in. This is the game that should’ve been moved instead of the Steelers vs Bills. They are telling fans that are going to the game Saturday night to wear a few layers because this type of weather can cause hypothermia. Now that not a condition these players want to play in at all.
