The Washington Commanders face the Detroit Lions on Saturday night in an NFC divisional round showdown at Ford Field. Washington enters Saturday winners of six straight games, five of which came down to the wire, including last week’s wild-card win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
The Lions are the NFC’s top seed, going 15-2 in the regular season, and are two games away from the franchise’s first-ever Super Bowl appearance.
Below are the latest odds and our final score prediction for Saturday.

Commanders vs. Lions prediction, pick:
Bryan Manning:
When you have Jayden Daniels, you have a chance. We are past the point of calling him a rookie; he’s already one of the NFL’s best quarterbacks. Unfortunately, he doesn’t have enough help to overcome a super-talented Detroit team on the road. Washington’s defense will struggle to stop the Lions. It’s incredible where the Commanders are in year one of a new regime, but they are just a bit ahead of schedule, and, unfortunately, their dream season ends on Saturday in Motown.
Pick: Lions 35, Commanders 24
Ivan Lambert:
What a test this will be for the Commanders’ defense.
The Lions scored more points and averaged more points per game than all NFL teams. They also gained more yards than all other NFC teams this season. Detroit is also rested because they earned it with the NFC’s best record. The Lions led the NFL in first downs, and the Commanders’ defense will have to get Detroit off the field, or they will be worn down, which will get ugly.
The Washington offense can move the ball against the Lions. The Commanders will need to do better than they did last week running the ball, to take some pressure off Jayden Daniels, and keep the Lions’ pass rush honest.
So badly want Washington to win, of course, but…
Lions 34, Commanders 24
