The Baltimore Ravens could be a fit for future Hall of Famer Von Miller this offseason as he’s still available on the market. According to reports, the Ravens could use another edge rusher, even though they did show signs of life toward the end of the 2024 campaign. The team is no stranger to having one of the worst defenses last season since losing Jadeveon Clowney due to salary cap concerns, so they should add a capable old-school veteran to increase their chances for a championship run. It’s not out of the question for the Ravens as they already added veteran wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins for their offense, but the team must act fast after the NFL Draft since most teams will look towards the market if they don’t get who they want in the draft.
Miller could be the perfect asset for the Ravens, even if it’s in a temporary role. Originally selected in the first round of the 2011 NFL Draft, the former Texas A&M product spent the majority of his NFL career with the Denver Broncos, helping them win their Super Bowl in organization history in the Peyton Manning Era. Miller is an eight-time Pro Bowl selection, and he helped the Los Angeles Rams win a championship themselves as well along with Aaron Donald. As of this posting, Miller still holds the most career sacks in Bronco history.
Despite that, the veteran edge rusher hasn’t been the same elite player as he’s getting older and slowing down. However, these three teams may pursue him either way and help push for a championship.
Ravens Named a Fit for Future NFL Hall of Famer Von Miller – Chargers, Chiefs and Commanders Could Intervene
Nostalgia in LA
The Los Angeles Chargers defense will look dramatically different in the worst way possible this season. After releasing Joey Bosa, the team has yet to find a capable replacement, despite having one of the best cap spaces in the league. Khalil Mack is returning, and this could be his last season before he eventually retires. Tuli Tuipulotu can only do so much as he will take over as the future of this linebacker unit, so they need a veteran to help open their championship window.
Von Miller might not be the same and could be Joey Bosa 2.0, the team is in a better state if they pursue him. Head Coach Jim Harbaugh loves playing an old-school physical defense, and Miller is a perfect fit for that philosophy. These two should have no problem establishing chemistry in this defense. It’s better than depending on journeyman Denzel Perryman and Daiyan Henley for the majority of the season.
Other Potential Fits
For the Chiefs, they could be in the market for another linebacker despite signing Nick Bolton to an extension. Drue Tranquil and Leo Chenal haven’t been able to replicate the same success that Bolton has been carrying in this unit. Perhaps Bolton could use someone like Miller to mentor him before he retires, and he could win a third Super Bowl.
Meanwhile, Miller is also a good fit for the Commanders as they’re taking advantage of quarterback Jayden Daniels’s rookie contract to get the best talent to increase their chances for a championship. It did pay off with Bobby Wagner, who they’re bringing back for another season. However, he might need a veteran counterpart, and Miller is the perfect plug-in to team with Wagner as two ferocious veterans.
