Happy Thanksgiving. This is the season to be grateful. Not just for life but for Family, Friends, and being able to see and hear stories from the year. Also, to sit around the table and have a wonderful feast. I will share, in this article, my favorite sports moment and what I am thankful for this holiday season.
Greatest Sports Moment: LeBron James Game 7 block on Andre Iguodala
My greatest sports moment of all time has to “The Block” by LeBron James in the 2016 NBA Finals vs. The Golden State Warriors (73-9) to help secure a NBA Championship for his hometown Cleveland. Not only did LeBron further cement the Cavaliers in history but he bought a championship to his hometown team for the first time in the franchise’s history. Then completing a 3-1 comeback of the Golden State Warriors. That has never been done in the history of the NBA. The entire series was led by LeBron’s personal journey. He came back to Cleveland to deliver a title and right the wrongs of the past. The return of the prodigal son. Game 7 was one of those games where you didn’t care who won but you just had the feeling LeBron would find a way to will his team to victory. Game 7 seemed like it was tied at 89 for an eternity. Then finally, the Warriors got a steal and had a two on one with JR Smith being the only Cavalier back on defense. Iguodala passed to Curry, Curry gave it right back, and it looked like Iggy had a wide-open layup. Out of nowhere, LeBron flew into the picture with his signature chase down block off the backboard. It might be the signature moment of LeBron’s career. Then, just a few moments later, Kyrie Irving hit a dagger side step 3 over Steph Curry, the reigning league MVP to basically steal Game 7 from the Warriors and their historic season. This is my greatest sports moment.
What I am thankful for: Family, MSB staff, My Wife
This Thanksgiving I am grateful for the guys at MSB for giving me the opportunity to do something that I passionately love to do and that’s cover and write articles for the Baltimore Ravens and the NFL. I been with these guys for a few months now but it’s been the best few months I have had working with a awesome group of guys. Seeing my name, Dewayne Vannoy on articles really brings a HUGE smile to my face. Another Appreciation to my family. Without Family there would be no Dewayne. They drive me everyday to be the best man I can be on a daily basis and always ready to have my back in any given situation. Lastly, my wonderful wife Ashley. We recently gotten married in September, and I just want to show my gratitude for all that she does on the daily. Her job isn’t easy but she knows how to manage situations and keep things going. I love her for that. I am looking to spend the rest of my life with her.
Happy Thanksgiving to all. Remember to eat a lot, and enjoy the times that we have one another because tomorrow is not promised.
PS: We as writers here at MSB wouldn’t be able to do this without you guys support. Thanks for the support shown and let’s continue to grow.
