Washington welcomes the newest member of the family, Trey Amos, after making him the 61st overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Day 2 of the NFL draft is here and the Washington Commanders have picked Ole Miss CB Trey Amos with the No. 61 overall pick. Washington went offense yesterday with Oregon OT Josh Conerly Jr., and now gives DC Joe Whitt Jr another DB to work with. Washington released former 1st round pick Emmanuel Forbes Jr. last year, and let Benjamin St-Juste leave in free agency last month. Mike Sainristil was taken in the 2nd round last year and was used in several spots. Washington also traded for Marshon Lattimore who was dealing with a hamstring injury.
Trey Amos wasn’t expected to be available at No. 61, but Washington had no problem turning his card in and making him the second Commander drafted this week. Amos spent five years in college, with his first three at Louisiana. He joined the SEC two years ago with Alabama, and then transferred to Ole Miss for his final season. He had his best season with 50 combined tackles, 4 tackles for loss, 3 INTs, 13 passes defended, and a forced fumble.
