The Washington Commanders made a bold move ahead of Tuesday’s NFL trade deadline: Washington general manager Adam Peters addressed his team’s most significant weakness, trading for New Orleans Saints cornerback Marshon Lattimore.
The 28-year-old Lattimore is under contract for two more seasons, so this is not a rental. According to Adam Schefter, Washington sent a third, fourth and sixth-round pick to New Orleans for Lattimore and a fifth-round pick. The sixth-round pick is the one the Saints sent to Washington this summer for defensive tackle John Ridgeway. Washington has an extra third-round pick due to the wide receiver Jahan Dotson trade.
How did fans and the NFL world react to the move? Here are some of the early reactions, according to X — formerly Twitter.
