Daniels really shined in the fourth quarter when he led three consecutive scoring drives to put two touchdowns and a field goal on the board, putting the Commanders within a missed-extra point of tying the game with 21 seconds remaining on the clock. That final touchdown was an improbable 86-yard catch & run by Terry McLaurin.

Daniels actually led a trio of touchdown drives in the final 30 minutes of the game, as he topped off the opening drive of the second half with a 17-yard scamper around the right end to score the TD himself.
Jayden Daniels had impressive stats for the game, rushing 7 times for 74 yards and a touchdown, and completing 25 passes on 38 targets for 275 yards, 2 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. One of the interceptions came on the final play of the game — a 60-yard Hail Mary heave — while the other one came on a pass that bounced out of Brian Robinson’s hands in the middle of the field.
After struggling through a rocky first half in which the Commanders got into scoring position only two times, Daniels put his team in position to win the game in the second half, with four scoring drives that resulted in three touchdowns and a field goal in an NFL game that had one of the most exciting finishes of all time.
The Commanders ultimately made too many mistakes to win, giving away a second-half fumble and two kickoff returns for touchdowns, along with gifting the Cowboys four 1st downs by penalty, but Jayden Daniels did his part to give his team a chance to get the victory.
After twelve weeks, the Commanders still have the 5th-highest scoring offense in the league, having put up 334 points (27.8 points per game). The team is solidly in second place in the NFC East, and is currently positioned for the 7th seed in the NFC playoffs. These impressive achievements coming in a rebuilding year in which the entire franchise was stripped down and rebuilt in a matter of months are largely attributable to the high level of play and professionalism of Washington’s rookie quarterback, who is having an incredible season.
For my entire adult life, I’ve never spoke about this team in this way.

Kyle Brandt: We need people to see Jayden Daniels; he is the best thing going right now – the coolest, most fun, most astonishing thing. The best show, right now! It’s not the Vikings; it’s not the Chiefs – it is the Commanders offense, and the Commanders as a whole, and I have never said that in my life.
HISTORIC: #Commanders QB Jayden Daniels is the ONLY ROOKIE IN NFL HISTORY to have least 250 passing yards, 70 rushing yards, two TD passes, and a rushing TD in a game.
