The Washington Commanders are currently one of the best teams in the NFL, and we still don’t know how good they could be. The consensus power rankings suggest that the Commanders are a top-ten team in the NFL, which is rare for Washington to be at any point in an NFL season. Let your guard down. I know it isn’t easy for some fans, but like Dan Quinn said on his latest “Tell the Truth Mondays,” “Let it ride,” and believe what you’ve seen.
There are still plenty of games left to play, but Washington hasn’t had the number-one scoring offense in the NFL since 1991 and a top-five offense in yards per game since 2016. Defensively, things are still coming together, and better quarterbacks than Deshaun Watson will surely put them to the test, but there is a sense of urgency there. Most importantly, this team is led by a dynamic rookie quarterback, Jayden Daniels, who continues to stress out every tier of defensive coordinator. On the latest Trap or Dive Podcast, Dre and I discussed the elements that have affected the outlook of the 2024 Washington Commanders and why they may just be scratching the surface regarding accomplishments.
