Road dogs
The Washington Commanders defeated the Dallas Cowboys 23-19 to improve to 12-5 for the season. They clinched the 6th seed and are now set to face the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Super Wildcard Weekend. The date and time won’t be known until after tonight’s Minnesota Vikings vs Detroit Lions game that will set the #1 and #5 seeds.
Opening odds for the Commanders have them as 2.5-point road underdogs against the Buccaneers. The O/U opens at 49.5 which is up three points from the previous two weeks’ odds.
This game will be a rematch from Week 1 of this season. The Buccaneers handled the Commanders fairly easily, winning 37-20. That was Washington’s big point differential in a loss this season, and was also Jayden Daniels first game in the NFL. A lot has changed since then, and Washington will be looking to even up the score and advance to the divisional round of the playoffs for the first time since 2005.
Point spread: Commanders +2.5
