The NFL free agent signing frenzy will begin soon, and the overpaying will commence.
The better issue is what players out there will teams be able to sign for a bargain/reasonable price.
Yes, there will be a signing frenzy—it always is each season, and this year, the signing period will launch on March 12.
Bleacher Report constructed a list of eight free agents whom they feel will be players not receiving the most attention now but will be good, solid bargain signings. Interestingly enough, one of the Commanders’ free agents made their list of eight good signings to make.
DE Dante Fowler signed with Adam Peters and the Commanders last year for a one-year $3.3M deal. At age 30, Fowler remained healthy, playing in all 17 games, accumulating 10.5 quarterback sacks and 20 quarterback pressures.
Bleacher Report sees Fowler going elsewhere because the Dallas Cowboys and Detroit Lions will offer Fowler more than the Commanders.
For those who want the list of the eight bargain deals, here goes:
- Baron Browning, EDGE, Arizona Cardinals
- Rico Dowdle, RB, Dallas Cowboys
- Dante Fowler Jr., EDGE, Washington Commanders
- Will Hernandez, G, Arizona Cardinals
- Sebastian Joseph-Day, DT, Tennessee Titans
- Elijah Molden, DB, Los Angeles Chargers
- Levi Onwuzurike, DL, Detroit Lions
- Jedrick Wills Jr., OT, Cleveland Browns
