The Ravens are on their bye week in week 14, as they currently sit at 8-5, second in the AFC north, and the current six-seed in the AFC playoff picture. If the season ended today the Ravens would travel to Pittsburgh to take on the Steelers in the wildcard round.
But luckily the season doesn’t end today, but even though the Ravens do not play this Sunday they can still get some help from other games around the league.
Here are some games to watch and who to root for to help the Ravens.
New York Jets (3-9) @ Miami Dolphins (5-7) 1 P.M. (CBS)
Both the Jets and Dolphins currently sit outside the playoffs with the Jets hopes all but dashed. While the Dolphins sit at 5-7, three games back of the Ravens. A Jets win would make it even harder for the Ravens to get caught from behind, and gives the Ravens more room for error.
Root For: Jets
Cleveland Browns (3-9) @ Pittsburgh Steelers (9-3) 1 P.M. (CBS)
The Browns defeated the Steelers in week 12, 24-19, and another Browns win on Sunday will keep the Steelers within reach of the Ravens who will have a rematch with the Steelers in week 16, which will likely determine who will win the AFC North title.
Root For: Browns
Buffalo Bills (10-2) @ Los Angeles Rams (6-6) 4:25 P.M. (FOX)
The Ravens defeated the Bills in week four, and while the Bills have been the hottest team in the NFL over the last month a loss on Sunday to the Rams will keep them close to the Ravens when it comes to AFC playoff seed positioning. The Ravens week four win gives them the head-to-head tiebreaker should it come down to that, but a Rams win on Sunday would help the Ravens keep pace with Buffalo.
Root For: Rams
Los Angeles Chargers (8-4) @ Kansas City Chiefs (11-1) 8:20 P.M. (NBC/Peacock)
The Ravens still have an outside chance at the number one seed in the AFC playoffs, but they would need a massive collapse from the Chiefs which currently appears unlikely. But the Chargers and Ravens are fighting for playoff seeding with the Ravens holding the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Chargers after the Ravens defeated the Chargers in week 12, 30-24. A Chargers loss would move the Ravens from the six-seed to the five-seed.
Root For: Chiefs
