In the penultimate game of the regular season, D.C. United fell 1-0 to CF Montreal on Saturday. The lone goal came off the foot of of Donovan Pines, who plays for the Black and Red but unfortunately bounced into the net. Horrible way to lose a game and probably the most unlucky. It came in the 41st minute.
Pines received his first career red card in the 79th minute. David Ochoa recorded three saves including a penalty kick save in the 80th minute. Martin Rodriguez led the Black and Red with seven total crosses. Jackson Hopkins returned to the starting lineup for the first time since September 10 at Real Salt Lake.
The loss dropped D.C. United’s road record to 3-12-2 this season. Thankfully that was their last road game.
The Black and Red finish the season on Sunday at Audi Field at 2:30 p.m. against Cincinnati on NBC Sports Washington plus.
