More roster moves are coming
The Washington Commanders are #2 on the waiver priority list, but the news started coming from the #1 Carolina Panthers after the 12pm deadline for waiver claims. They used their advantage to claim six players, two LBs, three CBs and an OT from San Francisco. Tariq Castro-Fields was one of the CBs Carolina claimed, taking him out of consideration for Washington’s practice squad. Several players came from the Seahawks and could have been of interest to new special teams coordinator Larry Izzo who spent the last six seasons in Seattle. The Cincinnati Bengals also claimed DE K.J. Henry who was a surprise cut to many people.
The #Panthers have the No. 1 spot on waivers and they’re taking it seriously. Every player they placed a claim on is coming to them:
Among the guys they’ve gotten so far:
– CB Shemar Bartholomew (via Jets)
– CB Keenan Isaac (via Bucs)
– CB Tariq Castro-Fields (via Commanders)

Any players claimed today have to be placed on the claiming team’s 53-man roster. There were several players who seemed to be a good fit for Washington, but they didn’t put in any claims.
So no waiver claims for Washington after all. Before final cuts They certainly had anticipated putting in some claims. Nope. Perhaps a FA signing or two. On to the practice squad players.
